Annotating Literature

Welcome!

A peer project based at the English department of Tübingen University, Annotating Literature focuses on annotations of literary works both modern and classic.

What we’re working on

At the moment, Annotating Literature comprises of four groups that work on Mark Twain's The Prince and the Pauper, Poetry (by, for example, John Donne, Emily Dickinson or Shakespeare's Sonnets), Charles Dickens's "The Chimes", and Francis Beaumont and John Fletcher's The Knight of the Burning Pestle.

We're always looking for new participants and/or suggestions for our work. If you're interested in working in one of the groups, have helpful comments or critique for working with annotations or maybe just want to suggest an especially interesting text for annotation work, read the information here.

Read the annotated poems

We developed a customized TEASys viewer that you can simply access in your browser. It was specifically designed for the ease of reading the original work together with the annotations. Find it here.
