This group’s main focus lies on the whole genre of (English and American) poetry. Our students annotate a wide variety of poems, which differ in genre, literary periods, and style. Examples include poems by Emily Dickinson, E. E. Cummings, John Donne, Richard Crashaw, and John Cleveland. Students of this group practice the close reading of poetry, as well as the literary criticism and theory of poetry.
Summer Semester 2024
We meet for weekly sessions on Thursdays from 12-2 p.m. in room 465 of the Neuphilologikum (Brechtbau).
The first meeting will be May 2nd.
The block sessions will take place on Saturdays May 11th and June 1st from around 10 a.m. to 5 p.m in room 306 of the Neuphilologikum (Brechtbau).
