This group’s main focus lies on the whole genre of (English and American) poetry. Our students annotate a wide variety of poems, which differ in genre, literary periods, and style. Examples include poems by Edgar Allan Poe, William Wordsworth, Emily Brontë, John Donne, Richard Crashaw, and John Cleveland. Students of this group practice the close reading of poetry, as well as the literary criticism and theory of poetry.
