This group’s main focus lies on the whole genre of (English and American) poetry. Our students annotate a wide variety of poems, which differ in genre, literary periods, and style. Examples include poems by Emily Dickinson, E. E. Cummings, John Donne, Richard Crashaw, and John Cleveland. Students of this group practice the close reading of poetry, as well as the literary criticism and theory of poetry.
We meet Thursdays 6-8 p.m. (c.t.) in room 121 in the Brechtbau.
There will be an introductory session on Thursday, November 18. Students interested in joining please contact me by email: annotating-literature [at] es.uni-tuebingen.de
